Tuesday 13 May 2025--I catch an early ferry to St Ignace, then drive north to visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at the Whitefish Point Light Station, on the Lake Superior shore. Then it's west along the coast to the town of Grand Marais, where I'm staying two nights.

It's not normally permitted to take artifacts from shipwrecks, but the ship's bell from the Edmund Fitzgerald was recovered and replaced with another, engraved with the names of the crew.

Pints tonight in the Lake Superior Brewing Company, Grand Marais. The Red Sox are in Detroit, and I manage to get the bartender to put the Tigers broadcast on the telly.
